Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Thompson grew up in rural New Mexico after being born in Durango, Colorado, spending his early years working on his family farm. A talented athlete, he played baseball nationwide and was even offered a spot with the Milwaukee Brewers, but chose to pursue his education instead, completing his collegiate baseball career with the UNM Lobos.
He earned his dental degree with honors from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and completed advanced hospital-based training in Denver, gaining extensive experience in prosthodontics, IV sedation, oral surgery, implants, and endodontics. His excellence led to invitations to serve as chief resident and later resident faculty before returning home to New Mexico to join Summit Family Dental.
Dr. Thompson is an active member of numerous professional dental organizations and holds ACLS and PALS certifications. He continues to advance his skills through ongoing training with the prestigious Spear Education group.
Outside the office, he enjoys time with his family, mountain biking, reading, and exploring New Mexico’s vibrant cuisine. He is proud to provide high-quality dental care to the community he calls home.
